An Illinois Wedding + Skydiving

Towards the end of March I flew out to Illinois for a week. My parents were kind enough to pay for the flight. Upon Arrival My dad gave me the cutest little welcome box with some little gifts and goodies. I was also greeted with Giordano’s pizza early on in my visit. That is my absolute favorite pizza and it just tastes like home.

My dad and I did a little daddy daughter date to ifly indoor skydiving. We have both been curious about it and so I thought this would be a good time to try it out! It was actually really fun, they taught us how to position our body to float in this air chamber. It is a safe way to practice sky diving  and the instructor was really helpful. The thing is that your mind is put in a weird state as you concentrate on floating. They gave us two minutes each so it was pretty short but gave us a good taste of indoor skydiving. After our flying experience we went out to dinner at a middle eastern place and got shawarmas.

My parents recently got an ice cream maker so I helped them sample different flavors and invent new ones. I also did a ton of shopping in St. Charles, the Geneva Commons, and Chicago Premium Outlets. I mostly got shoes, bracelets, top, and some craft supplies. My mom joined me on one shopping trip and she found the BEST jumpsuit for me. With both my parents we went to Portillo’s one evening and got the yummiest burgers that just taste like Chicago.

Then it was wedding time… First we had the rehearsal dinner which had seriously delicious food, it was at Emmetts in Dundee. The morning of the wedding all of the girls got our hair and makeup done professionally, which I’ve never done before. Once we were changed and glammed we went to take some pictures of the group downtown. Then we arrived to the wedding. The ceremony was really nice, it was fun to be a part of. Again the dinner was super delicious. I didn’t know a ton of people there, so I spent a lot of time with the little flower girl. We had fun at the photo booth, dancing, and checking out the decorations. Overall it was a beautiful venue and a very special day for Veronica and her family. I was glad to be a part of it.

It was a short trip to Chicago. It was also the first flight I have taken alone in years. I enjoyed being the “only child” for a week with my parents, I was able to spend some good time with them. Overall, it was a nice relaxing trip and I’m glad I could go.

Thanks for reading,
