Packsaddle Ladies’ Hike

Last weekend I went on a much needed Ladies’ hike to the prettiest little lake, let me tell you about it!

Sheldon decided he would help the scouts earn their 50 mile bike ride merit badge on Saturday Morning. Since I knew he’d be gone all morning I decided to plan my own adventure with some friends. I messaged a bunch of friends to organize a hike but there only ended up being two girls that could logistically join me.

We decided on visiting Packsaddle Lake. It is out close to Driggs, Idaho in Tetonia. Knowing it was not much of a hike, we packed a little lunch to eat there.

It was a little confusing to find actually- we followed THESE directions. We ended up getting a little lost driving in so it took a little longer than expected. I wouldn’t recommend taking a smaller vehicle because there are some large ruts in the drive up to the parking lot. On one particular area we had to push the car, but we made it to the top!

It was fun spending time with my friends Autumn and Alivia. It was good to catch  up with them and spend time outside enjoying nature. We explored around the lake, but the water was too cold to get in. We spent a few hours just hanging out and taking it all in. It was honestly therapeutic. It was especially fun to watch Alivia’s little boy play with the rocks and sticks.

Before leaving the lake we had a little picnic lunch. I brought stuff to make sandwiches, and my friends brought some healthy snacks. I’m glad there were just a few of us on the trip so we could slow down. It ended up being so fun and just what I needed! I hope to do another ladies’ hike soon!

Thanks for reading! If you are looking for a fun place to visit in the SE Idaho area definitely check it out.
