Announcement, My blog has moved! This is the new site that I’ll be posting to for now on because I had almost reached the maximum space available on the old page. I will now use the “Forever the Lloyds” domain to share my monthly posts.
A fresh new year is a time for change, which comes through goals and resolutions. I’m writing mine here to hold myself accountable to them. “An unwritten goal is merely a wish” -Unknown
5 Resolutions for 2017:
- Use and update my planner daily
- Exercise 4 X weekly
- Share my testimony monthly
- Run an official half marathon
- Show selfless love
I bought my planner from Bloom and they seriously have the cutest planners. Not only are they cute, but they are very goal centered. They provide many free printables to help you meet your own personal goals (finance, health, social, etc.). I also color coded some new pens for an organized yet colorful life.
Sheldon and I already have planned to exercise MWF at 2:00pm. It will be a nice break in the school day between classes. We enjoy running on the indoor track at school, so it will be a excuse to get out of the apartment and get some steps! This also means be conscious on eating- bring on the fresh juice!
As for sharing my testimony monthly, I don’t mean that I will necessarily speak in church each month. I do mean that I will make the but share it in any way that comes up, and when the Spirit prompts me. This could be in conversation with a friend, in class, on social media, wherever. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” -Romans 1:16
I am most excited for my goal to run an official half marathon this summer. I already know that I can do it because I was able to run the length (13.1 mi) in one day this last fall. Now I just need to sign up for one, plan, train, and do it!
Lastly, but also most importantly, I want to be a good friend. Through some tough lessons in 2016, I’ve learned that I want to be remembered for being kind. This will be a hard goal to measure, but it is something I need to improve on. This includes assuming the best of people, keeping in touch with friends, remembering their birthdays, serving others, making friendly conversation with strangers, and helping others when I see a need. The trick for me (is this just me?) is to do all of this out of love without expecting anything in return. My most important goal that I have decided on is develop selfless love and friendship.
Excited for this new year!
